INTERFAITH CONFERENCE OF GREATER MILWAUKEE
“I have had the honor of serving our community for the past 20 years, formerly serving as a Police Officer and an Educator working with high school youth in Milwaukee for 14 years. Currently, I’m the Executive Director of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee. My passion remains working with policy, systems, and individuals to assess and provide access that fosters healing. An example of this is Serve2Unite, an organization I co-founded in response to a tragedy. Our organization has engaged communities locally and nationally to build positive coalitions and communal identity addressing conflict and reconciliation through a public health lens. Over the past 8 years, this work has been locally and internationally recognized for our work building safe, inclusive communities. Over the past year, I have become a published author of the memoir, “The Gift of Our Wounds,” and have collaborated with diverse communities to bring a voice to healthy survivorship. I'm also an award-winning columnist with Milwaukee Independent bridging communal trauma to mental health. Finally, I am also honored to sit on the Mental Health Task Force Steering Committee as my goal is to make mental health and public health accessible to all communities.”
